Here's this iApplication that's been the talk of the iTown for quite sometime now. Its called Word Lens for iOS.
Every so often an app comes along that makes you marvel at the ingenuity of the creators. Word Lens for iOS works on devices that have a camera (iPod Touch 4G and iPhone).

Amazingly, it can translate text that the camera sees in real time (it does not need a network connection). It can be used a realtime language translator. Cool isn't? The app itself is free while each language pack costs $5. Currently only English to Spanish and Spanish to English packs are available, but more should be available soon.

ChompSMS is an Android messaging application. It is incredibly basic, has nothing more than a collection bits of plain and simple text on a plain graphic background.

ChompSMS integrates not only adds some design flourishes, but also introduces a whole new list of features such as android themes, chat-style bubbles, signatures, contact pictures, quick reply, blacklisting, templates, and loads of customization options. The added function it offers is that you can also bypass your service provider or operator and send sms using the ChompSMS network (over a data connection) if you buy credits from them online.
